Brief History:
Original abode of the Pampanga aborigines, the Aetas. A negrito settlement still exists today in the province's most western are which mountain terrains borders on the Zambales mountain ranges.

Geography
Porac or Purac, located in the northwestern part of Pampanga is geographically the largest Pampanga town (34,310 hectares). It is a mineral stamping ground and primary source of granite.

Major Industry
Quarrying (of sand) is the town's main income earning enterprise, with multi-million pesos worth of sand-filling materials excavated monthly from its seemingly boundless source in this municipality. A new sugar central is being built in Porac, to replace the old pre-war vintage Pasudeco mill in San Fernando. An aeta settlement - Villa Maria - is a cynosure of government attention and development efforts by private organizations.
